Senior Data Engineer at VML MAP

VML MAP is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Insights and Science team in Málaga, Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining digital marketing solutions, working with large global brands and complex media analytics challenges. They will employ new technologies across multiple cloud platforms to help brands improve in retargeting, communication, and CRM.

Responsibilities include:

• Identifying, collecting, and integrating data from various sources to build high-quality data pipelines and data models.
• Developing and optimizing code for cost-effective and easy-to-maintain pipelines.
• Building monitoring procedures and tools to ensure solid ETL flows and data quality.
• Designing processes and tools to correct ETL incidents.
• Collaborating with CRM developers, data scientists, data analysts, and product owners.
• Consulting data analytics teams on best practices for technical use of data.
• Designing data architectures and collaborating in data migrations in cloud environments.

Requirements:

• Experience in data engineering, big data, business intelligence, or data science.
• Experience in Spark, Python, Scala, or similar.
• Excellent SQL skills.
• Understanding of cloud data warehousing, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Experience with cloud-based data infrastructures (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Programming experience in Javascript, Python, or similar.
• Expertise in managing databases.
• Knowledge of data quality management best practices.
• Understanding of versioning control tools like GitHub.
• Knowledge of applying data governance principles.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes (advantage).
