This Social Media Manager/Senior Manager role is based in Shanghai, China, focusing on international artists. The individual will spearhead social media strategies, aiming to transform streams into viral trends and cultivate engaged fan communities across Chinese and international platforms. They will work alongside Sony Music.
Role involves:
- Developing and executing social media campaigns for 5-10 priority artists/labels.
- Optimizing content for China’s ecosystem (Weibo, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili) and global platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok).
- Monitoring real-time sentiment during high-stakes moments and fostering artist-fan connections.
- Partnering with A&R to tease unreleased tracks via social snippets.
- Piloting emerging platforms (e.g., AI-generated artist avatars, virtual listening parties).
Requirements:
- Proven track record in social media management, preferably within the music industry.
- Good understanding of music marketing cycles.
- Advanced knowledge of Chinese platforms (Douyin, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, WeChat).
- Experience managing budgets and optimizing ROI.
- Fluency in social listening tools and music-specific analytics.
- Creative direction for thumb-stopping content.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written/spoken).
