UX Engineer / Design Technologist

Job Description

Whalar Group is seeking a UX Engineer / Design Technologist to join their product development team. In this role, the individual will shape the future of the creator industry by contributing to the development of creator tools. The position is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and reports to the Director of Design.

The role involves:

• Design System Leadership: Develop, maintain, and evolve the design system.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams.
• Prototyping & Validation: Design and create interactive prototypes.
• Design Pattern Development: Help frame and plan new design patterns.
• Specification and Guidelines Writing: Write clear specifications for new features.
• Agile Development Support: Support the development team in an agile environment.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews and audits of the design system.

Whalar Group is looking for someone who has:

• 6+ years of experience in product design.
• Deep familiarity with modern design-to-code workflows.
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies (Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui).
• Experience with design documentation tools and version control systems.
• Experience working within agile development teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive mindset and strong communication skills in English.
