Senior Accountant (m/f/d)

Job Description

Appinio, a global market research company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. The Senior Accountant will manage all accounting topics of Appinio GmbH, both operationally and strategically. This role involves ensuring the timely delivery of financial statements through hands-on work and guiding external stakeholders. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with the Director of Finance to build a scalable global function and lead the annual PwC audit.

What this role involves:

• Maintaining Appinio GmbH financial ledgers and finding more efficient processes.
• Preparing consolidated financial statements in Lucanet.
• Performing month-end and year-end close processes with external tax advisors.
• Owning the GmbH audit process in collaboration with PwC.
• Ensuring accounts payable and receivable are reconciled using NetSuite and Payhawk.
• Challenging existing ledger preparation methods to create a digital, scalable accounting function.
• Working with external advisors to ensure compliance on topics such as transfer pricing.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Financial Accountant or similar, ideally in a start-up environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with NetSuite.
• Experience with German tax and accounting standards; knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
• Experience in Datev and MS Excel.
• In-depth understanding of business accounting procedures.
• German skills at C2 level and fluency in English.
