Jumia, a leading pan-African e-commerce platform, is seeking a Logistics Operations Manager in Nigeria. This role involves overseeing various aspects of logistics operations and is crucial for the company's continued success.

The Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for material handling, transportation, delivery, and return collections. The individual will also prepare worker schedules and ensure adherence to safety regulations within distribution, delivery, and last-mile operations.

What this role involves:

  • Managing day to day operations.
  • Challenging established processes and implementing new processes.
  • Finding creative and innovative ways to offer a better customer experience.
  • Understanding information system and working with IT team.
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain central team.
  • Managing relationships with clients and partners (Third party logistics partners).
  • Responsible for the logistics P&L.
  • Responsible to meet the logistics targets and KPIs including quality of customer experience.

Requirements:

  • 10 years with 2+ years direct management experience.
  • A completed master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • preferably in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment with a strong focus on logistics or alternatively consulting / banking.
  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or MBA preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Office Suite.
  • Ability to lead large teams.
  • Experience with process design and improvement.
  • Experience with the full staffing lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills; pro-active attitude.
  • Hardworking, result-oriented and methodical.
