Senior Analytics Engineer at Dovetail

Dovetail, the world’s leading AI-first customer insights hub, is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join its Data team. The Data team enables teams across Dovetail with accurate and useful data, bringing clarity and structure to decision making across the business. He/she drive the technical direction of Dovetails data platform as the company scales, and work closely with product and GTM teams to continuously improve their data practices.

What this role involves:

• Owning Dovetail’s dbt pipeline and data warehouse architecture.
• Applying engineering best practices to build analytics models.
• Distilling complex business logic into clean abstractions and metrics.
• Driving alignment across teams on how we quantitatively understand the state of the product and the business.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship within the data team.
• Working cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure data is leveraged effectively.
• Tackling complex problems around performance, scalability and accuracy.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with dbt and modern data stack tooling.
• Fluency in SQL and ideally one data analytics language (e.g., Python or R).
• A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals in the context of data analytics code.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion about using data to understand customer experience and inform product direction.
