Job Description
Five Rings, a proprietary trading firm, is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join its expanding team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the workstations and servers supporting the firm's trading operations. This role requires a hands-on approach and frequent interaction with users across the organization.
The Systems Administrator at Five Rings will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the company's Linux-based infrastructure. They will work both on trader desktops and in datacenters, addressing various systems-related tasks.
Role Involves:
- Installing workstations on trading floors and in offices.
- Installing servers and networking appliances in data centers, sometimes requiring travel.
- Hardware maintenance.
- Large-scale build-outs, sometimes requiring domestic and international travel.
- Installing office appliances such as printers, phones, televisions, etc.
Requirements:
- Fluency in Linux administration is a must.
- Experience in Debian/Ubuntu preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work tasks to completion and tolerate frequent context switches.
- Experience with: BIND, Ansible, Linux KVM, Zabbix, Google workplace collaboration and productivity tools.
- Experience scripting in bash and python is preferred, SQL and Perl a plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools including 2FA, iptable rulesets, Malwarebytes, fail2ban, etc.
- Ability to move and install equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Preference to apply a breadth of experience towards varied responsibilities in a small-shop environment.
- Comfortable with hands-on work; racking and stacking in data centers is commonplace.
