Job Description
Schrödinger is seeking an In Vitro Biologist/Molecular Pharmacologist to support its drug discovery programs. This role involves providing in vitro biology support from target assessment through lead optimization. The successful candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team of scientists and drug developers, supported by a large computational infrastructure. Role involves:
  • Guiding in vitro biology research strategies
  • Leading in vitro biology or molecular pharmacology for drug discovery programs
  • Managing experimental design and implementation of biochemical, biophysical, and cell-based assays
  • Overseeing data review, analysis, and interpretation
  • Managing CRO scientists to support IVB assay development
  • Collaborating on hit-finding activities
  • Participating in target evaluations, particularly tractability assessment

Requirements:
  • PhD in molecular pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
  • Extensive background in in vitro biology assay development and execution
  • In-depth knowledge of protein biochemistry and enzymology
  • Experience in biophysical techniques such as MST, SPR, and/or ITC desired
  • Experience managing external studies at CROs preferred
