Job Description
Schrödinger is seeking an In Vitro Biologist/Molecular Pharmacologist to support its drug discovery programs. This role involves providing in vitro biology support from target assessment through lead optimization. The successful candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team of scientists and drug developers, supported by a large computational infrastructure. Role involves:
- Guiding in vitro biology research strategies
- Leading in vitro biology or molecular pharmacology for drug discovery programs
- Managing experimental design and implementation of biochemical, biophysical, and cell-based assays
- Overseeing data review, analysis, and interpretation
- Managing CRO scientists to support IVB assay development
- Collaborating on hit-finding activities
- Participating in target evaluations, particularly tractability assessment
Requirements:
- PhD in molecular pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field
- At least three years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
- Extensive background in in vitro biology assay development and execution
- In-depth knowledge of protein biochemistry and enzymology
- Experience in biophysical techniques such as MST, SPR, and/or ITC desired
- Experience managing external studies at CROs preferred
