Urban Sports Club is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their Tech Hub in Valencia, Spain. This role involves contributing to the development of the flagship application and creating innovative features to enhance customer check-in experience.

The Senior Android Engineer will work within a cross-functional team, applying strong Android/Kotlin technical skills to deliver impactful features in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build advanced applications in Kotlin for the Android platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new features.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minimum 5+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with offline storage, maps API, and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
