The company is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to lead and advance its dynamic engineering organization. This role involves providing strategic guidance and architectural oversight across various teams, ensuring the platform meets the highest standards of quality, scalability, and performance. The Staff Backend Engineer will collaborate extensively with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to drive critical architectural decisions and promote a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Guiding engineering teams in architectural frameworks and best practices.
  • Ensuring team efforts align with the technical vision.
  • Defining and implementing technical strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Mentoring other engineers and facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Overseeing system architecture development and refinement.
  • Improving system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Promoting up-to-date engineering practices and innovations.
  • Contributing to diversity, inclusion, and wellness initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in backend development.
  • Proficiency in Microservices.
  • Expertise in Golang, PHP, or Python.
  • Knowledge of Event-Driven architectures, GCP, Kubernetes, and Istio.
  • Application of CI/CD, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and design patterns.
  • Experience mentoring developers and leading educational sessions.
  • Cross-functional teamwork skills and an agile mindset.
