Junior Genetics DevOps Engineer at LetsGetChecked

LetsGetChecked is seeking a Junior Genetics DevOps Engineer to join their team in Barcelona. This role involves maintaining and recovering bio-pipeline operations, analyzing failures, and collaborating with lab technicians. The engineer will monitor cloud environments, manage report delivery to customers, and maintain genome bio-pipeline output files. They will also contribute to documentation and work with extended teams to maintain report delivery TAT.

Responsibilities:

• Basic day to day bio-pipeline operation maintenance/recovery and monitoring
• Identify and do primary analysis for the detected failures
• Work closely with the lab technicians to organise daily bio-pipeline runs
• Monitoring of cloud environments (creating new alerts, creating dashboards, displaying them on screens, etc)
• Report delivery to customers management and maintenance. Support for sales reps interacting with the customers in case of incidents
• Maintain and archive genome bio-pipeline output files. Contribute keeping the documentation of the bio-pipelines alive and up to date with text and diagrams
• Work with extended teams to maintain agreed report delivery TAT for various samples (Turnaround Time)

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency in systems scripting languages like Powershell and Bash
• Exposure to managing cloud platforms, AWS / GCE / Azure (ideally AWS)
• Knowledge of Ux OS systems (AWS Linux and Ubuntu)
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
• Conscious of the best practises with regards to security
• Ability to work with aggressive delivery timelines and multitask
• Attention to details and excellent communication skills required.
• Experience with the following Programing languages ,tools or AWS services is considered an advantage : Python, Ryby, Groovy, Jenkins, AWS Step functions, Splunk, Graphana, CloudWatch, Batch Processing, Nextflow, Ilumina Dragen
• Past experience with Genetics processing platforms is highly desirable.
