Engineering Manager - Cloud Platform Engineer Core (Kubernetes) at AlphaSense Helsinki

AlphaSense is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Cloud Platform Core team, focusing on Kubernetes environments. This role involves steering the team in the development, deployment, and management of a multi-cloud platform, ensuring it is robust, scalable, cost-effective, and secure. Responsibilities of the role include:

• Driving the delivery of high-quality Kubernetes clusters, prioritizing simplicity and solving core problems.
• Maintaining and elevating operational processes for the management of Kubernetes environments.
• Overseeing the proper configuration of cloud services across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Acting as a technical thought leader for Kubernetes-based solutions.
• Implementing talent frameworks to build a strong team.
• Championing team growth through coaching and mentoring.
• Driving OKRs for the team each quarter.
• Fostering collaboration and communication within the team and across organizational boundaries.
• Upholding rigorous standards for production support of Kubernetes clusters.

The requirements for this position are:

• Proven experience in managing cloud platform teams with a focus on Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with cluster lifecycle management solutions.
• Solid background working with Cloud APIs (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and principles.
• Understanding and prior usage of FinOps framework.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and grow teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with operational processes and production support in cloud-based ecosystems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A track record of making informed decisions quickly.
