Workato is seeking a Staff Java Engineer to join its Data Integration team. In this role, the individual will collaborate with Product Management, CCE, and Infrastructure teams to deliver key data integration features. The position involves working on data orchestration recipes, data movement (ELT use cases), database connectivity, event streams (Kafka, JMS, and RabbitMQ connectivity), CDC triggers, and data insights.

The Staff Java Engineer will also collaborate with senior management, drive the execution of the Data Orchestration roadmap, coordinate cross-team projects, research and introduce new technologies, support the growth of other engineers, work with SRE and Infrastructure teams, perform code reviews, contribute to all phases of development, write efficient code, establish a testing strategy, and ensure designs comply with specifications.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
  • 14+ years of industry experience
  • Technical leadership experience
  • Experience with cross-team communication and project delivery
  • Experience in designing, building, deploying, and troubleshooting production-grade systems
  • Proficiency with Core Java
  • Experience with Relational Databases, SQL, and JDBC (one of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Experience working with Docker and other isolation technologies
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure providers (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud/Heroku)
  • Experience with high-load/big-data projects
  • Experience with performance tuning and performance testing
  • Experience with test-driven development
