Job Description
Dr. Squatch is seeking a Category Strategy Manager to play a crucial role in developing and executing retail strategies to drive growth. The role involves working cross-functionally to optimize major programs, surface insights, and maximize performance in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role based in Marina del Rey, CA reporting to the Director of Retail Strategy.
    What This Role Involves:
  • Analyzing market data, shopper insights, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for category growth.
  • Tracking and reporting category performance to inform decision-making for assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies.
  • Developing fact-based category stories that align with retailer objectives, using syndicated data.
  • Supporting the Director in building and executing category plans for key retail accounts.
  • Collaborating with Sales to develop customized category presentations and recommendations for retail partners.
  • Conducting category reviews with retail partners to share insights and explore growth opportunities.
  • Working closely with Marketing and Product Development teams to support new product launches and campaigns.
    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, quantitative, or technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in CPG or retail in a Category Manager or Insights/Analytics role.
  • Management consulting experience with exposure to CPG or retail strategy.
  • Experience with retailer, syndicated, and panel data sources, data analysis, and visualization tools.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
  • Advanced understanding of CPG industry trends and category management processes.
