Job Description

Fay is seeking a Controller to build their accounting function and team as the first accounting hire, reporting to the Head of Finance. This role is based in either San Francisco or New York. The Controller will be a key partner in strategic financial decisions.

What this role involves:

• Building the accounting function from the ground up
• Establishing financial controls and guidelines
• Managing financial operations, including compensation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Owning financial reporting, establishing benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards
• Leading Fay through financial audits as the company scales

Requirements:

• 6+ years of accounting experience at a top-tier accounting firm and/or fast-growing startups
• Highly analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional technical accounting knowledge
• CPA preferred
• Lead role in an audit on either the firm side or industry side
• Experience with NetSuite and/or Sage Intacct implementation, Rippling preferred
• Low-ego, high-grit attitude, thriving in tackling complex challenges
• Adaptability in dynamic environments with shifting priorities
