Appfire is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join its Information Security team. The role involves handling security engineering and architecture tasks, managing risk, identifying threats, and supporting security reviews and audits. The Senior Security Engineer will collaborate with various teams to design secure cloud environments and applications, perform security assessments, enforce compliance, and support incident response. They will also maintain security systems and services.

Role involves:
  • Collaborating with Engineering, IT Operations, and DevOps to design, engineer, and support security.
  • Performing security assessments and penetration testing.
  • Enforcing continuous security compliance for cloud apps and infrastructure.
  • Reviewing and approving controls to protect data and technology assets.
  • Supporting incident response and security operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with vulnerability management programs.
  • Providing expertise in the integration efforts of Appfire acquisitions.
  • Implementing and maintaining information security systems and services.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cyber security engineering and/or architecture at a software company.
  • Experience performing security work in a multi-cloud environment is preferred.
  • Experience with at least one vulnerability scanning tool.
  • Experience as a pen tester for web-based applications and familiarity with OWASP top ten.
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python preferred) and Linux concepts.
  • Experience with basic SQL and manipulating large data files preferred.
  • Understanding of key cryptography concepts.
  • Knowledge of common information security frameworks such as CIS, NIST, ISO 27001 & SOC 2 a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
