Senior Fullstack Engineer (with Backend focus) (f/m/x) - Marketplace Team

Job Description

CarOnSale is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer with a Backend focus to join their Marketplace engineering team in Berlin. The engineer will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions for the B2B automotive sector across Europe. CarOnSale values broad experience over specialization, looking for candidates with experience in building solutions end to end.

The role involves mentoring less experienced engineers and leading engineering processes, including technology screening and architectural design. The Senior Fullstack Engineer will moderate team sessions, provide technical feedback, and support team members in tackling technical and process challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Mentoring less experienced engineers
• Identifying and defining technical and product requirements
• Designing development processes (CI/CD) and standards
• Leading and supporting engineering processes (technology screening, architecture design)
• Moderating team sessions and guiding team members
• Providing technical feedback to team members

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in Software Engineering (Backend and Frontend)
• Previous experience in coaching and mentoring engineers
• Hands-on mentality towards technical and organisational challenges
• Proficiency in TypeScript and familiarity with Node, NestJS, Angular, and PostgreSQL
• Experience with modern SCM, Build & Release Tools (Git, CI, Docker, etc.)
• Practical experience with agile development frameworks (Scrum or Kanban) and tools (JIRA, Confluence)
• Excellent English communication and relationship-building skills
