Job Description
IONOS is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (w/m/d) to join their team of infrastructure experts in Karlsruhe. This role involves close collaboration with various teams within the leading European provider of cloud infrastructure, cloud services, and hosting.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in the planning, implementation, migration, and operation of IONOS's critical DNS, DHCP, NTP, and IP-Management services, working closely with system administrators and network engineers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Designing, developing, and operating highly available services on Linux.
- Ensuring seamless integration with operational and product requirements.
- Taking ownership of the entire stack, from hardware to application.
- Driving continuous improvement and development.
- Contributing to open-source projects like DIM and monzero.
- Participating in on-call duty for the DNS Squad.
Requirements:
- A degree in computer science or a comparable qualification.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex, distributed services on Linux.
- Experience in system-level development of highly available software using Go, Python, Bash, and Java.
- Practical experience with DNS, NTP, DHCP, and IP-Management.
- Familiarity with Puppet or other configuration management systems.
- Experience with Observability Stacks.
- Passion for Open Source, especially Linux.
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus).
