Job Description

IONOS is seeking a passionate and skilled Software Engineer (w/m/d) Golang (VNF) to join their team in Berlin. The company is the leading European provider of cloud infrastructure, cloud services, and hosting services. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge Virtual Network Functions (VNF) for scalable, high-performance cloud systems.

The Software Engineer will face complex technical challenges, utilizing the latest technologies to build next-generation virtualized environments for firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and more.

Role Involves:

• Developing and maintaining modern, scalable Virtual Network Functions (VNF) for IONOS Cloud using Go (primarily) or C/C++.
• Designing and implementing new functionalities incorporating advanced networking technologies like Open vSwitch, OpenFlow, VXLAN, VRF, and eBPF.
• Solving complex problems such as distributed scalability, real-time traffic management, and node optimization.
• Collaborating with other teams for seamless integration of VNFs into IONOS products.
• Working on architectural design, POCs, and decision-making for key features and enhancements.

Requirements:

• Advanced programming skills in Go (mandatory) and/or C/C++.
• Extensive Linux experience, including knowledge of GNU toolchains (gcc, gdb, make), CLI, and system administration.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, containerization tools, and/or virtualization technologies like KVM, QEMU, VirtIO, etc.
• Problem-solving mindset and enthusiasm for collaboration in a team-oriented environment.
