Groupon is seeking a Software Engineer III - Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud Routing Team in Bangalore. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions, optimizing cloud resources, and developing robust networking solutions. The engineer will also manage CDNs, caching solutions, and service mesh architectures using Envoy proxy. They will implement security measures, monitor cloud services, and collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.

Role involves:

  • Designing and managing cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Developing and maintaining networking solutions, including VPCs and routing tables.
  • Deploying and managing CDNs to improve content delivery speed.
  • Implementing caching strategies to enhance application performance.
  • Designing and deploying service mesh architectures using tools like Istio or Linkerd.
  • Implementing security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data.
  • Setting up and maintaining monitoring tools to track the health and performance of cloud services.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for cloud infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles.
  • Experience with CDNs, caching technologies, and service mesh architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Envoy proxy.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
