Groupon is seeking a Data Pipelines Support Engineer to join its Platform Reliability Engineering Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and optimizing global data pipelines, working in 24/7 rotational shifts to ensure continuous system reliability and operations.

The role involves:

  • Providing L1 support for 500+ data pipelines, including Revenue Management Pipelines.
  • Developing and maintaining infrastructure, automation, and monitoring tools to reduce manual efforts and improve incident response times.
  • Migrating and supporting Keboola pipelines while integrating new technologies to improve platform reliability.
  • Collaborating with Data Engineering, Cloud Support, Infrastructure, Finance Engineering, Product Teams, and external partners.
  • Monitoring & troubleshooting global data pipelines, ensuring quick incident acknowledgment and resolution within SLAs.
  • Automating observability, monitoring, and operational tasks for improved efficiency.
  • Maintaining infrastructure supporting large-scale data pipelines.
  • Leading migrations to modern platforms like Keboola.
  • Working cross-functionally with Networking, Security, and Engineering teams to enhance platform reliability.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong Software Engineering background with expertise in automation & DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience in Data Engineering, managing large-scale data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure is a plus).
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform.
  • Experience with monitoring & alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, etc.).
  • Strong Python, Shell Scripting, or other programming language skills.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools, Airflow, Keboola, or similar data platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Good understanding of incident management processes and SLAs.
  • Strong analytical skills for log analysis, alerts, and system metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
