Architect - Merchant Centre

Job Description

Groupon is seeking an Architect for its Merchant Center, focusing on designing and implementing the technical architecture that powers the platform used by merchants to manage their Groupon campaigns. The role involves creating scalable, secure, and user-friendly systems that allow merchants to easily access tools for managing campaigns, analytics, and customer engagement. The Architect will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the architecture supports business goals and provides a seamless experience for merchants.

• Leading the design and implementation of systems within the Merchant Center organization.
• Focusing on solutions that come from better architecture.
• Driving initiatives across engineering teams to increase platform performance and stability.
• Collaborating with engineers to identify problems and build effective technical solutions.
• Mentoring junior team members.
• Advocating for and improving the tech culture.

• At least 12+ years of experience in software development, with experience building merchant-facing products.
• Excellent coding skills in Node/Express JS, React.js, or Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS and GCP.
• Development experience with service-oriented architectures/microservices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile development process.
