Groupon is seeking an ambitious and energetic Business Development Representative to join their growing Sales team in downtown Chicago. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in hospitality, customer service, or anyone with excellent communication skills and the ability to excite others. The Business Development Representative will be on the front line, connecting with local businesses, helping them attract new customers, and shaping their success on Groupon.
What this role involves:
- Finding and connecting with local businesses.
- Engaging and pitching Groupon's platform through outbound calls.
- Presenting tailored solutions to match merchant goals.
- Owning targets and exceeding them.
- Building lasting relationships with merchants.
- Working cross-functionally to ensure successful campaigns.
Requirements:
- Confident communicator with strong listening and negotiation skills.
- Outgoing personality.
- Ability to work in-office 3 days/week in downtown Chicago (4 days during onboarding).
- Comfortable with technology and CRM systems (Salesforce experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with local businesses or the Chicago landscape is a bonus.
- At least 6 months of sales experience (telesales, cold calling, retail, etc.) is nice to have.
What Groupon offers:
- Base Salary: $40,000 per year.
- Commission: Based on gross profit — no cap.
