Payroll Accountant at Outset Medical

Outset Medical is seeking a Payroll Accountant to oversee all aspects of U.S. payroll processing and financial reporting. The Payroll Accountant will ensure compliance with U.S. tax regulations and company policies, manage payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting while supporting audits and ensuring payroll accuracy.

Role involves:

• Overseeing and processing multi-state U.S. payroll accurately and on time using ADP Workforce Now.
• Maintaining general ledger accounts related to payroll expenses, benefits, and tax liabilities.
• Preparing and consolidating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Reconciling payroll accounts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Managing employee payroll data, process adjustments, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Responding to employee payroll inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
• Supporting audits by preparing payroll-related documentation as needed.
• Serving as a backup for payroll processing, verifying payroll data, and ensuring accurate and timely payments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
• 5+ years of experience with U.S. payroll accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) is required.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or other ADP payroll systems, particularly in multi-state U.S. payroll.
• Familiarity with accounting systems and ERP Systems (QAD preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
