Field Service Engineer (Detroit, MI)

Job Description

Outset Medical, a medical device company revolutionizing dialysis, is seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) for a role based in Detroit, MI. The FSE will be responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of the Tablo Dialysis System. This role involves interfacing with clinical staff and patients, providing exceptional customer support, and applying engineering theory to diagnose issues and implement solutions. The FSE will also assist Production and Engineering as needed, support Marketing and Sales for events, and provide feedback to R&D. Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to customers.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair Tablo Dialysis Systems.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Address and resolve customer issues.
• Complete field service and expense reports.
• Support Marketing and Sales.
• Provide feedback to R&D.
• Support the development of training and service materials.
• Document service activities and maintain spares inventory.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Access to a personal vehicle.
• Ability to charge travel expenses on a personal credit card.
• Associates degree (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Fluidics) strongly preferred or military equivalent.
• 2+ years Field Service experience in the Medical Equipment Industry preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret electronic and fluidics schematic diagrams and flowcharts.
• Excellent computer and technology skills.
