Venture Scout

Job Description

CVX is seeking a Venture Scout based in Berlin, Germany, to join its Venture Scout Programme. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for sourcing attractive investment opportunities in their specialist fields and assisting the CVX Investment Team. The role is not full time, but CVX will provide remuneration based on success criteria.

The Venture Scout will learn and develop crucial VC skills, meet entrepreneurial founders, and contribute to shaping the future. They will identify and research startups, assessing their teams, markets, and competition. Based on their findings, they will write a proposal and present it to the CVX Investment Team.

CVX aims to use the Venture Scout Programme to discover investment opportunities and evaluate potential candidates for the Investment Team. This programme serves as an entry point to the VC ecosystem, providing essential VC skills and showcasing investment analysis and presentation abilities.

CVX compensates Venture Scouts when deals they bring forward to the Investment Team receive funding from their network of investors, with an opportunity to benefit from the upside.

As a Venture Scout, the role involves:

• Identifying exciting startups.
• Speaking with startups and conducting research on them.
• Assessing teams, markets, and competition.
• Writing a 1-2 page proposal summarising the investment thesis.
• Presenting proposals to the CVX Investment Team.
