Kepler is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team in Costa Rica. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with the HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll processing, maintain payroll records, and provide excellent support to employees.

What this role involves:

  • Overseeing the administrative aspects of payroll.
  • Processing payroll changes and updates in the HRIS system.
  • Maintaining accurate employee data across systems.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Maintaining payroll information in the knowledge base.
  • Managing payroll shared drives and reporting documentation.
  • Reviewing and reconciling employee expenses and time sheets.
  • Supporting quarter-end and year-end reporting.

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of US payroll experience, ideally in a multi-state organization with 350+ employees.
  • A high level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Familiarity with US payroll practices, processes, and deadlines.
  • Experience with payroll systems such as Paylocity and/or Paycom.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and Gmail.
  • Understanding of current US payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
