Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Description

iFood is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help them to Alimentar o Futuro do Mundo. The engineer will design, code, and test services that impact main areas of the company. They will also assist in constructing structures and tools to identify performance bottlenecks, measuring, monitoring, and optimizing performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance. This role impacts the lives of millions of people daily.

Role Involves:

• Design, code, test, operate, and troubleshoot production issues in cloud-based services (especially AWS).
• Participate in prioritizing product evolutions, considering the best value gains for the business, always based on data.
• Build scalable and resilient solutions.
• Conceive and develop APIs.
• Analyze systems in production, seeking continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Passionate about object-oriented software development and functional programming.
• Knowledge of automated testing, distributed systems, and security concepts in development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, queries, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with the use of queues and topics, and asynchronous communication between services (SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Interest in programming with Java, Kotlin, and/or Rust.
• Knowledge of Cloud (mainly AWS) and a vision of scalability.
• Experience with Linux, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, Docker, or Kafka.
• Experience using microservices, asynchronous communication, and concurrency issues in distributed systems.
