Staff Data Scientist

Job Description

XPENG, a smart technology company focused on AI and autonomous driving, is seeking a Staff Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will apply data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to solve challenges in autonomous driving and drive strategic decision-making, supported by data from XPENG's autonomous fleet.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and apply advanced data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques.
• Analyze large datasets from vehicle sensors to improve algorithms.
• Work with cross-functional teams to design and optimize algorithms and models.
• Perform data preprocessing, cleaning, and feature engineering.
• Evaluate model performance and implement improvement strategies.
• Develop data pipelines and visualization tools.
• Collaborate on real-time data processing systems.
• Stay current with advancements in machine learning, computer vision, and autonomous driving.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related field (PhD is a plus).
• 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or in a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with data manipulation and visualization tools.
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets and perform data wrangling and cleaning.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
