At-Sea Processor - F/T Alaska Ocean

Job Description

Glacier Fish Company is seeking Processors to join the F/T ALASKA OCEAN team. This role involves working on the world’s largest factory trawler in a challenging environment that requires physical and mental endurance.

The Processor will be responsible for converting raw fish into frozen product, managing product quality, and maintaining equipment. This position demands teamwork, self-discipline, and the ability to commit to extended periods at sea.

Role Involves:

• Converting raw fish into a frozen-at-sea finished product
• Sorting fish by species, size and condition
• Packaging, weighing and labeling product
• Loading and unloading plate freezers
• Operating and cleaning factory equipment
• Offload of frozen product to warehouse
• Load and unload other supplies on the vessel
• Sharing spaces with others including crew quarters, dining areas and bathrooms

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years commercial fishing OR 1+ year of experience performing physical work
• Knowledge of factory trawler operations and conditions preferred
• Able to work 16-hour shifts, 7 days a week
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. repetitively
• Must be able to work in a cold and wet environment for extended periods of time
• Must be able to perform fast paced, repetitive tasks for long periods of time
• Must adhere to all safety and quality policies and regulations of the vessel and company
• Must be able to share room assignments and bathroom facilities and eat in common dining areas with other crew
