Staff FinOps (DevOps) Engineer

Job Description

Simplify360, a Nextiva company, is seeking a Staff FinOps (DevOps) Engineer to enhance cost optimization and operational efficiency within its cloud and AI infrastructure. This role is based in Bangalore and operates on a hybrid model.

The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, cloud cost management experience, and a robust understanding of financial accountability within engineering teams. He/she will be responsible for enabling cost-efficient scaling of systems and fostering a culture of financial responsibility. This role involves strategic thinking, driving initiatives to completion, and championing financial optimization.

The candidate will collaborate with SRE, DevOps, finance teams, and product engineers to establish best practices across the Systems Engineering group and the organization.

Role involves:

• Managing costs across multiple cloud and AI platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as on-premise infrastructure
• Developing and maintain dashboards to provide visibility into cloud and AI costs and utilization across teams.
• Implementing strategies to leverage pricing arbitrage, ensuring the selection of cost-efficient decisions to switch between providers as needed.
• Leading efforts to integrate FinOps principles into DevOps workflows and decision-making processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive experience with cloud and AI providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their cost optimization tools
• 7+ years of experience in Systems Engineering/DevOps/SRE, with at least 3 years focusing on cloud cost management or FinOps.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes, serverless computing, and containerized environments.
• Exceptional communication skills to convey technical and financial concepts to engineering and leadership teams.
