Simplify360, a Nextiva company, is seeking a Staff FinOps (DevOps) Engineer to optimize cloud and AI infrastructure costs and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud cost management, infrastructure optimization, and financial accountability within engineering teams. This role involves enabling cost-efficient scaling of systems and fostering a culture of financial responsibility.
The Staff FinOps (DevOps) Engineer will work closely with SRE, DevOps, finance teams, and product engineers to establish best practices across the Systems Engineering group and the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of cloud cost management and FinOps processes.
- Analyze cloud spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage costs across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain dashboards for cloud cost visibility.
- Implement resource-tagging strategies for accurate cost allocation.
- Evaluate alternative cloud service offerings for pricing advantages.
- Automate manual cost-tracking tasks.
- Integrate FinOps principles into DevOps workflows.
- Mentor engineers on FinOps principles.
- Provide architectural guidance for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their cost optimization tools.
- 7+ years of experience in Systems Engineering/DevOps/SRE, with at least 3 years focusing on cloud cost management or FinOps.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, serverless computing, and containerized environments.
- Solid grasp of monitoring and observability tools.
- Deep familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation in cloud environments.
- Exceptional communication skills.
