Backend Engineer (B2B)

Job Description

Proton is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their B2B team. This role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of solutions for over 50,000 businesses, non-profits, and government organizations using Proton services. The engineer will collaborate closely with product teams and other central teams, particularly within a globally distributed team operating 24/7.

What the role involves:

• Contributing to backend development using PHP/Symfony.
• Database and data modeling using MySQL.
• Leading large and complex backend projects.
• Collaborating within small, empowered teams.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience as a backend developer, ideally in PHP.
• Solid database and data modeling knowledge (MySQL).
• Proven experience in leading large and complex projects as a backend engineer.
• Bonus: B2B product experience and infrastructure knowledge.
