Proton is seeking a Senior Database Platform Engineer to join their infrastructure department and enhance the reliability and scalability of their database systems.   • Supporting and managing web-scale MySQL databases.
  • Boosting automation to reduce operational workload.
  • Designing and implementing new operational procedures.
  • Using programming skills to improve database platform management.
  • Participating in long-term database technology strategies.
  • Providing feedback on architecture, design, and scalability.
  • Optimizing database infrastructure layers.
  • Troubleshooting complex technical problems.
  • Keeping the database up-to-date by performing upgrades.
  • Working with development teams to deliver low latency, secure services.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience with highly available database systems.
  • Strong programming/scripting experience.
  • Solid knowledge of MySQL, ProxySQL, Ansible, and Linux.
  • Background in performance tuning and problem diagnosis.
  • Experience with software management configuration tools and observability solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, server hardware, storage, and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with distributed database systems (a plus).
