Proton is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to join their Marketing Technology team. The engineer will be responsible for planning, scoping, implementing, enhancing, and maintaining Proton's marketing tech stack, ensuring integration of different systems while adhering to strict privacy and security requirements.

The role involves working with a team of over 500 people from over 50 different countries. Proton values intelligence, learning potential, and ambition.

What this role involves:

  • Research, plan, scope, evaluate and implement Proton's MarTech stack using Python and PHP
  • Help and train the engineers of our business units to integrate sdk's we provide
  • Own MarTech maintenance, including updates, enhancements, security, and privacy of the systems
  • Help teams identify where technology can help increase conversion, efficiency and user experience
  • Be a point of contact when it comes to technical solutions in the MarTech space and be the key person when it comes to technical questions about the stack

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in building high-quality systems
  • Experience building scalable solutions with PHP or Python
  • Solid understanding of SQL
  • Solid understanding of HTTP/REST, including both developing and consuming Web-based APIs
  • Proven capability in integrating different in-house built systems with off the shelf products
  • Experience in integrating into clients (ideally web and mobile)
  • A curious, passionate, and growth-oriented mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and deliver high-quality software solutions on time and on budget
  • Ideally you already had some touchpoints with marketing technology in the past
