Technical Product Manager at Ably (UK)

Ably is seeking a Technical Product Manager to drive the success of its platform. This role involves working with innovation teams to expand the platform's capabilities, focusing on developer experience and new product development. The Technical Product Manager will own the roadmap and strategy for their products, ensuring growth within Ably's ecosystem.

In this role, the Technical Product Manager will:

• Champion a visionary product strategy in partnership with leadership.
• Improve the wider platform offering through roadmap initiatives and new features.
• Understand customer needs through research and engagement.
• Drive exceptional developer experiences.
• Communicate clear requirements to engineering and document them.
• Steward the delivery process in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Own commercial outcomes and take new products to market.

Requirements for this role include:

• Significant product management experience for technical B2B SaaS products.
• Background in software engineering with coding ability.
• Understanding of pub/sub and distributed systems.
• Experience delivering solutions used by developers (developer tools or APIs),
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
• Roadmap development experience for complex products.
• Detail-oriented approach to user needs.
• Experience defining APIs, writing documentation and building prototypes.
• Data-driven decision-making.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, agile startup environment.
