Job Description

Clear Street is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its UK and European business. This role is based in London, England.Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem with a cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for the complexities of today’s global market. They aim to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, country, and currency.This individual will support the firm’s global expansion in the UK, EU, Canada, India and Singapore.Responsibilities may include:

• Negotiating equity and fixed income trading agreements.
• Interfacing with and drafting responses to regulatory authorities like the FCA and AFM.
• Providing legal counsel to officers and executive management.
• Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Ensuring contracts comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements include:

• At least 10 years of experience in financial services law.
• Extensive knowledge of FCA rules, FSMA, and MIFID.
• Knowledge of EMIR, SFTR, and GDPR.
• Experience in dealing with institutional trading counterparties.
