Job Description

Gigster is seeking SRE Support Engineers to join its Talent Network for upcoming projects with a major client. These roles involve supporting clients' internal IaaS, from onboarding to creating support platform content. The roles require active participation in developing support tools and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally to address customer questions and resolve incidents.
  • Troubleshoot container orchestration issues in Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Resolve complex application deployment issues.
  • Analyze customer interaction trends and provide feedback to Engineering and SRE.
  • Build knowledge base articles and participate in post-mortem reviews.
  • Contribute to the client’s objectives and goals, working on complex issues.

Requirements:

  • Robust level of spoken and written English.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting scalable applications and web services.
  • Experience with AWS (mandatory), Google Cloud (nice to have).
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker (mandatory).
  • Basic knowledge of Spark and Kafka.
  • Extensive experience deploying, managing, and scaling applications using Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Helm, Kustomize, or similar tools.
  • Linux administration, scripting, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of network protocols, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Comfortable working with a technical customer base and providing a wide range of support.
  • Strong familiarity with modern server technologies and architectures.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and passion for Technical Support.
  • Ability to work as an independent contractor for a US company.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with observability and logging tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Relational Database Management Systems.
  • Relevant certifications (CKA, CKAD, LPIC).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
