Job Description

Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Windows Support System Engineer. In this role, the individual will manage and maintain Windows-based systems, ensuring their optimal performance, reliability, and security. They will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, performing system upgrades, and providing end-user support. The System Engineer will also implement best practices to enhance system stability and scalability.

Responsibilities include:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows servers.
• Managing Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, and domain controllers.
• Providing Tier 2/3 support to resolve escalated technical issues.
• Implementing and maintaining security measures.
• Developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts for system automation and optimization.
• Collaborating with IT teams on infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Proven experience as a Windows Support/System Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11 operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
