Job Description

Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a Systems Engineer (Networking) to join their team. This role will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and operating network infrastructure components and ensuring the smooth operation of network services.

The Systems Engineer will work independently on projects, troubleshoot network incidents, and contribute to the implementation of major network infrastructure projects. They will also mentor junior associates and act as an escalation point for complex network issues.

Responsibilities Include:

• Configuring, maintaining, and operating network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Troubleshooting and resolving major network incidents.
• Owning network infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Becoming a subject matter expert in a network specialty domain.
• Contributing to the implementation of major network infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in core Network and Security.
• Experience with multi-vendor firewalls such as Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Fortinet.
• Detailed understanding of L3 routing protocols OSPF & BGP.
• Experience with networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, and MPLS VPNs.
• Knowledge of cloud networking services in Azure and AWS.
• Practitioner-level network automation skills using Python or Shell Scripting.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
