Expert Database Administrator - Req 2140 at Altera Digital Health India

Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking an Expert Database Administrator to provide technical support for Microsoft Databases and Application Servers, optimize, and maintain mission-critical database environments. This role is based in India. The Database Administrator will work closely with developers, system administrators, and DevOps teams to support application performance and deployment.

The role involves:

• Designing, deploying, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Conducting query tuning and optimizing database configurations.
• Implementing role-based access control and ensuring data encryption.
• Developing and maintaining SQL Server Backup & Recovery strategies.
• Automating database administration tasks.
• Providing expert-level troubleshooting for database-related incidents.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Expertise in T-SQL, query tuning, and indexing strategies.
• Strong experience in HA & DR solutions (Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering).
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, Integration Services, and Analysis Services.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure SQL and cloud-based SQL solutions.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
