Embedded Engineering Lead - Streaming

Job Description

Verkada is seeking an Embedded Engineering Lead to join its streaming team. This role is based in San Mateo, CA. The streaming team is crucial to Verkada's video security solutions, focusing on delivering the best streaming experience for live and historical video.

The Embedded Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading the embedded aspects of the streaming team, ensuring high-quality code and contributing to the development of new features.

Responsibilities:

• Lead code reviews, debugging, and bug fixes.
• Experiment/test with new development boards.
• Make regular contributions to existing code base to push new features OTA on a frequent basis.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define new specs for future products.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science (or similar degree).
• 8+ years of experience working on Linux development as a Software Engineer.
• Proficient in C. Go and Python are nice to have.
• Experience working in an agile team environment.
• Familiar with Linux servers, Linux device drivers, Linux kernel patches, secure operating systems and security focused programming.
• Preferred experience working with embedded Linux, cameras, video codecs and processing.
