Job Description
Centria Healthcare is seeking a Behavior Technician to help children with autism acquire skills to reach their full potential. The Behavior Technician will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Behavior Consultant (BCBA/BC) to implement behavior intervention plans. This role involves creating learning opportunities and documenting the progress of the child. Therapy will be conducted in the child’s home or at a Centria center.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct client care in 1:1 and group settings.
- Following behavior protocols as outlined in the treatment plan.
- Collecting and summarizing data on client behavior.
- Assisting with parent and caregiver training.
- Ensuring timely documentation following Centria procedures.
- Communicating client progress with parents and caregivers.
- Maintaining a safe and organized therapy environment.
- Assisting BCBA/BC in preparing client materials and assessments.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation and in some cases, proof of driver’s license and valid car insurance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and TB test.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and run/move quickly.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled therapy appointments.
- Professional presentation and conduct.
- Patience and emotional control.
- Positive attitude and drive.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Strong technology skills for data recording.
- Good communication skills.
