Markforged is seeking a highly motivated Productization Engineer to join their team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between engineering, operations, product, and customer support, ensuring a seamless transition of product lines from development to production and customer deployment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional system thinking and troubleshooting skills, combined with a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the productization process for product lines.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach in development activities.
  • Ensure design for serviceability (DFS) is integrated into the productization process.
  • Develop processes for product documentation.
  • Act as a key technical resource during product launch and rollout.
  • Analyze field data and customer feedback to identify product improvement opportunities.
  • Manage the design, prototyping, and release of product updates and spare parts.
  • Collaborate with different teams to solve system issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus 2+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Adaptability and focus on new challenges.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Technical troubleshooting mindset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience writing technical troubleshooting documents.
  • Experience working with database tools (JIRA is a plus).
  • Experience with change control systems (EPDM, Github, ERP and PLM systems) a plus.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion360, Onshape, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to work with technical and operational teams.
  • Eagerness to take on new projects and responsibilities.
