Research Lead- Strategic Awareness

Job Description

The AI Security Institute is seeking a Research Lead for their Strategic Awareness team. This team focuses on keeping the AISI and broader government informed of AI developments, especially regarding AGI and other advanced AI systems.This role involves driving research to foresee and track AI developments, identify key scenarios, and keep policymakers informed.Responsibilities include:

• Driving research that foresees and tracks possible trajectories towards AGI and their impacts.
• Identifying key scenarios for capability advances and impacts of AI systems.
• Tracking key developments and impacts in real-time to keep policymakers abreast of the latest developments.
• Collaborating with team members to communicate findings to key government decision-makers.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A track record in relevant research.
• Strong knowledge of frontier AI, capability trajectories, the supply chain, and impacts.
• Excellent science communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
