Smarkets is seeking an Engineering Tech Lead to guide a team of software engineers focused on building and maintaining the core exchange functionalities that power Smarkets' main products. The Tech Lead will help organize the team's direction, guide their career growth, and ensure the development of the right stack for the future of Smarkets' products.
The role involves optimizing exchange solutions with a focus on scalability, low latency, reliability, monitoring, security, and automation. The Tech Lead will drive sprint planning, collaborate with other leaders, manage incidents, champion the technology stack, and foster the career growth of team members.

Requirements:
- Previous experience leading and mentoring exchange-focused engineering teams
- Proven leadership skills in building and managing technical teams
- 6-8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing distributed systems
- Deep knowledge in running services in cloud microservice environments and hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Familiarity with AWS cloud
- Familiarity with observability principles and tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, Elasticsearch, Jaeger)
- Excellent planning and communication skills
