Per Diem LCSW, Oncology Counselor

Job Description

Jasper Health is seeking a Per Diem LCSW, Oncology Counselor to provide behavioral health counseling and psychosocial support to cancer patients. The LCSW will report to the Director of Clinical Operations and will conduct initial psychosocial and behavioral health intake assessments, as well as ongoing counseling sessions. The counselor will provide individualized support to oncology patients, encompassing comprehensive psychosocial assistance throughout their cancer journey. This role involves mental health assessments, therapeutic treatment, case management, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.Role Involves:

• Conducting mental health evaluations and assessments.
• Developing and implementing treatment plans.
• Offering ongoing therapeutic support and case management.
• Preparing and maintaining treatment and progress reports.
• Collaborating with other agencies and healthcare professionals.
• Providing crisis intervention and suicide risk assessments.
• Guiding patients in accessing community resources.
• Staying informed about local and regional cancer resources.

Requirements:

• Current LCSW state licensure (multiple states encouraged).
• Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in one or more of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, California, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Washington State.
• Proven experience in behavioral health and case management within oncology settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of community resources and crisis intervention strategies.
• Knowledge of billing psychotherapy codes.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft and Google programs
