Lead Engineer

Job Description

Jasper Health is seeking a Lead Engineer to expand its digital coaching and navigation platform. The Lead Engineer will report to the COO and play a critical role in integrating new technologies and overseeing all engineering activities for a cross-functional team. Jasper Health's services can now be directly reimbursed by health plans (including Medicare and Medicaid).

The Lead Engineer will contribute as an individual and as a team lead. This role will help integrate new technologies and oversee all engineering activities. The Lead Engineer will also manage and mentor other software engineers and work closely with the product manager and technical project manager.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance our powerful platform, web, and mobile applications using cloud-native technologies
• Work on all levels of the technology stack (Python, Postgres, Redis, Flutter, etc.)
• Design and implement scalable and highly available APIs, services, and systems
• Integrate with third-party platforms to create industry-leading solutions
• Lead technical architecture, design, and implementation for new products and enhancements to existing products
• Manage and mentor other software engineers including estimation, code reviews, process improvements, and more.
• Own the team’s documentation of code, APIs, architectures, and all relevant technical information as it relates to business/technical operations and the product itself

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software and database experience
• 3+ years of experience with cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• 1+ years of being a team lead or managing other engineers
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining amazing new end-to-end features
• Ability to perform code reviews and review/approve system architecture and database structures
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the entire SDLC
• Significant experience driving incremental improvement in engineering team’s processes
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Team based mentality and willingness to work with others either domestically or internationally
• Strong written and verbal English skills.
