Job Description
WellPower is seeking a Mental Health Therapist II to provide direct mental health clinical assessments and treatment to individuals with mental illness in a walk-in clinic setting. The therapist will work within a clinical team to support individuals in their recovery journey. The role involves providing psychological evaluations, crisis interventions, and individual or family therapy. The therapist will be responsible for case management services, coordinating medication needs, and maintaining accurate clinical records. They will also participate in team meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions.
  • Providing psychological evaluations/problem identification
  • Conducting crisis interventions
  • Providing individual, and/or family therapy to assigned clients
  • Providing case management services to clients as needed or assigned
  • Assisting clients with psychological development, social development, and rehabilitation
  • Coordinating client's use of other WellPower programs and outside community resources
  • Coordinating medication/medicinal needs of clients with psychiatrists, nurses, and other medical sources
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records consistent with WellPower standards
  • Participating in team/department meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required
  • Performing 27-10 (M-1) “mental health hold” evaluations
  • Obtaining prior authorizations and coordinate referrals to appropriate higher levels of care
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or similar field
  • Minimum of three years experience in clinical social work
  • Experience working with moderate to severe and persistently mentally ill populations
  • Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately
  • Familiarity with the DSM V and diagnostic techniques
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible and on-call hours which may be required
  • Must have valid drivers license and good driving record
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles/practices
