WellPower is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) or II (RN) to join their team on a part-time basis at the Walk-in Center. This role involves providing clinical services within a multidisciplinary team environment. The Psychiatric Nurse will work the day shift on Saturdays from 7am-7:30pm. The role is located at 4353 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80220.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain, record, and communicate important clinical information.
• Provide psychological problem identification, crisis interventions.
• Provide limited case management services to consumers as needed.
• Assist consumers with psychological and social development and rehabilitation.
• Coordinate consumer’s use of other WellPower programs and outside community resources.
• Coordinate medical care and intervention with other clinical staff and psychiatrist(s).
• Monitor consumer’s vital signs and administer medications.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
• Participate in team/organization meetings and supervisory sessions.
• Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.

Requirements:

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
• Current Colorado RN or LPN license in good standing.
• 1-3 years of experience working with consumers with a serious and persistent mental illness preferred.
• Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
• Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy and community resources.
• Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
• Familiarity with the DSM IV and diagnostic techniques.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
